Okay, so I wanted an animated Buffy mood theme, but I had trouble finding an animated one that covered the entire cast, aswell as every season. Plus, I wanted one that included all of my favourite moments :D So, I decided to make one! Ugh, and now I know why these are so hard to come across. This was an absolute bitch to make! Buffy is so big. Anyway, so here you are!

- Buffy the Vampire Slayer animated mood theme (all characters)

energetic crushed naughty
indescribable rejected tired

Feel free to preview the entire theme here in all its shiny glory. ETA: Sorry about the error, it should be working now!

I'm going to borrow these wonderfully well written instructions from lidi, because if it wasn't for her I'd never have figured out how to install these things! So just so we're clear, these are her awesomely helpful and clearly written instructions, not mine.

For Plus and Paid accounts:

1. Download the zipped file containing the mood theme from either megaupload or sendspace. Unzip it and upload the pictures to your own server. (I recommend photobucket :))

2. Copy the following text:

3. Now we have to replace that ugly "http://INSERT-YOUR-URL-HERE" with an actual url that you'll get after uploading pictures to, say, photobucket. The easiest way is to open NotePad or Word, and paste the text from the box above.
Then press Ctrl+H, or use the Find and Replace function, and change "http://INSERT-YOUR-URL-HERE/" to something that might look like "http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k87/moodtheme1/"
Of course, you'll have another address - it's just an example. Remember - you'll only be replacing the part that goes before the name of the mood (i.e. you'll have to leave intact the names themselves - such as "happy.gif", "sleepy.gif", "excited.gif" etc).

4. Now to get rid of those "XXXXXX"s. Go to the command console and type in:
moodtheme_create "Buffy animated" "by storyfootprints" and then press 'execute'

5. You'll be given a number, your moodtheme ID - please remember it. Then, replace all those "XXXXXX"s with that number (in NotePad just press Ctrl+H, or in Word, use the Find and Replace function). So in the end, it'll look something like:
"moodtheme_setpic 209875 31 http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k87/moodtheme1/happy.gif 78 46"
(once again - it's just an example. You'll have a different number and a different url).

6. Copy your ready text (the one with all replaced numbers and urls) and paste it to the command console, then press 'execute'.

7. Head over here, choose "Buffy animated" from the drop-down menu of mood themes (it should be at the bottom) and hit save changes.

And that's it - you're done!

For Basic Accounts:

The easiest way is to upgrade your account to a Plus account, and install the mood theme using the above method. Afterwards, you can switch back to the Basic account, and your mood theme should still be there, installed and ready to use.

I'll still include the instructions for using this mood theme on a Basic account, incase anyone wants it. I know I'm still guilty of using this method on some communities ;) What can I say? I'm lazy. Anyway, so:

1. Download the zipped file containing the mood theme from either megaupload or sendspace. Unzip it and upload the pictures to your own server. (I recommend photobucket :))

2. Copy the following text and replace every "INSERT-YOUR-URL-HERE" with the actual urls that you'll get after uploading all pictures to, say, photobucket:

3. Save your finished text somewhere on your computer (as a text file, or whatever you prefer).

4. Every time you make an entry, simply choose a mood from the list and paste it at the top of your entry. You'll essentially be inserting a picture into your entry every time :)

And that's it!

- Please credit storyfootprints somewhere in your userinfo. I'm not usually so stingy about crediting and such, but this thing involved a LOT of work, so crediting would be awesome, please. Plus, it makes it easier for other people to find this, if they like what they see on your journal :)
- I'd really appreciate a comment if you take, like or hate.
- No hotlinking, obviously.
- Feel free to join the community for updates.
